The king followed his father`s advice and for many years he raised fortifications and fortresses, hillocks and observation towers. He spent all the money but he couldn`t surround the entire country with walls and fortresses.

As he stood sad and unhappy, a hermit came and asked him: “What is worrying you, Your Majesty?”

“There is no money in the treasury, I am getting old and I cannot carry out the promise I gave to my father: to raise walls everywhere around the country to stop the enemy from invading the country.”

The hermit told him:”Your Majesty, go and make friends in all the neighbouring countries and have no fear of invaders.”
